Bateva school (learning naturally and independently) is an integrative school for special education, unique in its rural surrounding and atmosphere as well as academic curriculum. The school focuses on educating towards functional independence, preparing the students for independent life while enhancing natural and social sciences and arts, as well as integrating the students in a regular school, located nearby.
The ministry of education has recognized the need for establishing such a school due to its unique characteristic and the variety of treatments it offers. The school operates as an unofficially recognized establishment. School opened in 2009 and is operating according to an official pedagogic curriculum under the supervision of the ministry of education. Institution registered number is 442442.
The school is intended for students with complex learning disabilities functioning with a normal to borderline IQ level. It is intended for 1st through the 8th grades (future plan is to continue up to 14th grade).
The school's vision is to integrate its graduates within society as independent people who are productive and contributive.
The school facility is situated on an agricultural land in a rural surrounding. This enables learning in a calm and pastoral atmosphere, while using natural resources to create an enjoyable academic and therapeutic surrounding.
The school is situated in the center of Israel, in Beit-Oved, close to road 42, half way between the cities Rishon Le'tsion and Yavne . It belongs to the local municipality of Gan Rave. |
